Hunting in Harlan County, NE
Hunters come from every state in the nation to take advantage of the great hunting in Harlan County. The game species vary as much as the habitat and include Turkey, Pheasant, Waterfowl, Mule Deer and Whitetail Deer, Dove, Quail, Rabbits and Predators.
As a federal project, Harlan County Lake is open year round, with public access hunting on over 17,000 acres of Corps of Engineers’ property. Huntley Lions Club also provides 40,000 acres of private land access for hunting upland game birds. All state game regulations and seasons apply. Most lodging facilities have kennels or can make arrangements for kenneling hunting dogs.
